Emma Taylor and I spent an afternoon searching the web for Royalty free music that we could use on our trailer which didn't flout any copywrite regulations. The individual who created the music is the owner of it and can give other people permission to use it, like on adverts for example, however if the person given this permission is found to have flouted the regulations that come with the permission to use the music they can recive a heavy fine and a shot prison sentence. It is important to recognise another person's creative work and respect their song.
Keeping this in mind we wanted some royalty free music to feature in our trailer. Emma took the reponsibility of signing the licence agreement to state it's intended purpose and to the company's terms and conditions.
We are aware the trailers use more than one piece of music in their finished products, so we also contacted some bands to see if any of the would give us permission to feature some of their music in the trailer. We were very pleased with the responce we recieved, they gave us the permission and also were keen to see the trailer when completed.
