As our trailer will feature scenes in school and also a house party scene we will need background artists. Rather than filming during school time and during an actual party when there will be many disturbances. We want to hire some background artists so we can be sure that they will act professionally and will not jeopardize the production.
We have advertised for extras by placing posters in various places around the sixth form, we are also recruiting extras from local theater school Valley academy which both me and Emma Taylor attend regularly so we have good connections with the actors there. We will have drinks and refreshments available on the day and are e-mailing out more information to those who express interest.
For the school scenes (4 in total) we have had to ask members of staff if they are available to be the 'adult' in charge and kindly our deputy head of year 'Miss Mohammed' has offered to do this for us.It will also be organized for caretakers to open up the school at the times we wish as were planning on filming during half term break.
We're hoping to recruit around 15-30 extras in total but if we do not achieve this number we can still manipulate the shots to make it appear as if there are more people there than actually there actually are, e.g. do more close ups and seeing more people walking behind, rather than extreme long shots where we can see that there actually aren't that many people.
A Facebook event was also created as a way of quickly inform actors, extras and the crew on what to wear and what to bring to the shoot etc...
The following information was given to the extras briefing them on what to expect on the day.
