Further preparation

On the Wednesday morning of half term myself and Emma Taylor came together to test out some of the shots before the shoot the next day. The practice shoot outlined several problems such as the pen bouncing when it hit the ground which we did not consider beforehand. This is the first tester shot that we did using the pen, as you can see the bounce of the pen as it hits the ground jeopardizes the effect we are attempting to create.

For this second practice shot we used a book instead of the pen which we originally planned, as when it hit the ground the pen bounced and jeopardized the shot. The book however didn't bounce and therefore was much more effective. We first of all filmed the shot in reverse of what we would want to actually happen e.g
throwing the book off of the table. We then reversed the shot so it appeared the book was levitating.

To create the effect of the telekinetic  powers, we used three separate shots , one of the item falling from the desk, a second close up shot of the item hitting the ground, we then duplicated the shot and reversed it creating the illusion of the item being levitated into the air. We also reversed a long shot of the item being dropped.

We used the Final cut pro editing suite the duplicate and reverse the shots.
